The Cross-Site Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for supporting the cross-site operational aspects of scientific research. The role involves supporting cross-site projects and change initiatives, transformational programs, and the implementation of process excellence methodologies and new business technologies. The ideal candidate will have a background in operational excellence, project management, and an understanding of cross-site coordination in the pharmaceutical industry.

In this role you will

  • Transformational Programs & Projects: Support global and cross-site transformational programs and projects to improve the lab experience and operational effectiveness.

  • Process Excellence: Support the adoption of process excellence methodologies to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Business Technology Solution: Drive the adoption of new technology-based solutions to increase the efficiency of operational aspects of scientific research.
  • Leverage analytics visualization platforms (e.g. Spotfire or Power BI) to monitor operational performance in real time, identify inefficiencies, and enable data-informed decision making, driving productivity across cross-site teams.
  • Implement automated workflow solutions powered by artificial intelligence (e.g. Microsoft Power Automate) to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce manual errors, and improve turnaround times for scientific and business processes.
  • Stay update on proven AI tools with enterprise applications that can be incorporated to achieve cutting-edge operational solutions and changes in ways of working
  • Provide training for stakeholders and peers to maximize the utilization of enterprise available AI tools and foster collaboration across teams for seamless technology adoption
  • Program Management (Performance & Project Oversight): Support program level delivery and performance metrics in place to ensure project goals are met.
  • Project & Change Management: Support cross-site projects and change initiatives to drive operational improvements and ensure successful implementation.
  • Embrace change management principles and support others in the operations and scientific communities to better prepare for changes driven by a constantly evolving landscape.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to define and streamline business processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address operational challenges.
  • Adhere to timelines for scientific operations projects and initiative.
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Understand emerging technologies and best practices in scientific operations, project and change. management, program management, and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Undergraduate degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Experience in scientific operations, project management, or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Practical experience leveraging analytics and visualization platforms (e.g., Spotfire, Power BI, or similar tools) and automated workflow solutions (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate) to drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency
  • Proficiency with conversational AI applications (OpenAI’s GPT or similar enterprise-grade AI solutions) to support operations, address business challenges optimize processes, and challenge traditional ways of working
  • Track record of successfully supporting transformational projects, change initiatives and the implementation of new technology-based solutions (including AI-driven tools)
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting transformational projects, change initiatives and the implementation of new technology-based solutions.
  • Understanding of drug discovery processes and laboratory operations, including familiarity with relevant technologies and equipment.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working successfully within a matrix team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, embracing changing priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:

  • Developer background with experience in one or more programming languages
  • Six Sigma, PMP, and/or ProSci Change Management (or related) certifications
  • Experience in scientific operations, project management, and the implementation of AI-driven technologies in enterprise settings, particularly within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a related technology or science-based industry.
  • Understanding of drug discovery processes and laboratory operations, including familiarity with relevant technologies and equipment.
