Shape the Future of External Manufacturing Digital & Technology

As Tech Product Director – External Manufacturing, you will lead the digital transformation of GSK’s external manufacturing network. This role is pivotal in enabling a connected global supply chain, driving collaboration with Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs), and embedding advanced technologies to deliver agility, resilience, and visibility across our externalised operations.

You will own the vision, strategy, and delivery of digital products and platforms that underpin external manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration with GSK’s enterprise systems and alignment with our Smart Manufacturing vision.

You will be a visible thought leader in the industry, shaping best practices, and building strong partnerships with external parties to advance Smart Manufacturing Vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product strategy and roadmap for external manufacturing technology platforms, focusing on:

    • Supply Chain Collaboration (Blue Yonder OneNetwork)

    • IIoT Exchange (Factory Integration Layer)

    • CMO Intelligence (PowerApps)

  • Partner with external parties including CMOs, technology vendors, and industry groups to co-create solutions, share insights, and drive innovation across the external manufacturing ecosystem.

  • Drive operational excellence by leveraging digital tools to optimise processes, improve efficiency, and enhance compliance across external manufacturing operations.

  • Reinvent processes through automation, advanced analytics, and AI/ML, enabling real-time decision-making and proactive risk management.

  • Lead global cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy scalable solutions that enhance collaboration with CMOs and external partners.

  • Ensure robust architecture and interoperability, working closely with engineering and architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable, and API-driven solutions.

  • Manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring successful implementation and ongoing support of technology solutions.

  • Champion Agile ways of working, fostering a culture of experimentation, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement.

  • Measure and communicate product impact, driving adoption and value realisation across the organisation.

  • Lead change management initiatives, scaling digital capabilities and embedding collaboration tools across the global external manufacturing network.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline; MBA desirable.

  • Significant experience in technology product management, with a strong focus on supply chain or manufacturing domains.

  • Proven expertise in Blue Yonder OneNetwork or similar platforms (E2Open, SAP Business Network, Tracelink MINT), IIoT, and PowerApps.

  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale digital transformation programmes within external manufacturing or supply chain environments.

  • Strong track record of delivering enterprise technology products from concept to adoption in complex, matrixed organisations.

  • Technical acumen to engage with engineering teams and understand software architecture and integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and mentoring product teams, fostering talent development and high-impact delivery.

  • Deep understanding of modern product management practices, including customer discovery, lean start-up, and scaling strategies.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and drive clarity in complex environments.

  • Excellent communication skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

This role is hybrid. You will be expected onsite part of the working week to collaborate with stakeholders and supplier partners. Exact days onsite will be agreed with the hiring manager.
