The Senior Global Category Manager is accountable for all sourcing and contract management across their assigned category - cartons, labels, leaflets and corrugates.This will include the development and implementation of category strategies; the contracting for master/service/product agreements within the categories; the management of supplier relationships that fall outside of the enterprise SRM structure for these categories; and for ensuring the suppliers key to their category commit to deliver GSK’s performance/quality/financial requirements.

Category spend is ~£100m p.a. across 12 GSK packaging sites in UK, Europe and North America, responsible for 20+ suppliers, 50+ different supplier sites, and over 14,000 SKUs across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage or support one or more categories/commodities, often across multiple countries requiring high cultural awareness and oversight of medium-to-low spend.

  • Develop and implement global or regional sourcing and category strategies that ensure supply security, quality, service, cost control and innovation.

  • Negotiate, execute and maintain supplier contracts to secure favourable commercial and compliance terms throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Lead strategic relationships with critical suppliers to drive cost-effectiveness, innovation and measurable value delivery.

  • Plan and lead projects to deliver savings and mitigate supply, quality or commercial risks.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal GSK stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business requirements and represent the category in strategic forums.

  • Manage the supply base using robust performance management (KPIs, reviews, remediation) and continuous improvement practices.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation and continuity plans to manage supply interruptions and operational disruptions.

  • Ensure all sourcing activity adheres to regulatory, compliance and risk requirements across complex GSK processes.

  • Champion and enforce procurement policies and governance across functions, linking sourcing execution to GSK’s broader strategic objectives.

Why You?
Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business, Finance or Engineering.

  • 5–8 years operational Procurement experience, including work in regulated environments.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement sourcing and category strategies.

  • Experience influencing strategy and managing across multiple geographies and supply chains.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement tools: sourcing, quotation analysis, supplier review and supplier development.

  • Extensive contracting expertise (planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance); skilled in complex negotiations.

  • Experience in risk management and development of supply continuity and mitigation plans.

  • Good commercial and legal understanding, including cost benchmarking and financial audits with suppliers.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Fluent in English.

This role is hybrid. You will be expected to work from our Poland office regularly and be available for in-person collaboration.

The annual base salary in Poland for new hires in this position ranges from PLN 246,000 to PLN 410,000 gross, taking into account a number of factors including the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. Depending on the role and internal policies, the position may also be eligible for a bonus (if applicable and based on defined, non-discretionary criteria) and/or awards for exceptional performance (granted at the employer’s discretion). All statutory benefits will be maintained in accordance with Polish law. Other benefits may also be offered, which may include private healthcare, additional paid days off, life insurance, private pension plan and fully paid parental leave & care of family member leave.
