Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Economist/Investment Strategist to join JPMorgan Private Bank’s EMEA Investment Strategy team, based in London. This pivotal role will be responsible for analysis of European economies and developing investment strategies across rates and FX. In addition to crafting the house view, the role will involve communicating market insights to regional clients. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in global macroeconomics and markets, with a strong focus on the EMEA region. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as the role requires engaging and educating diverse client types and audience sizes. Focuses include European macro, rates, FX, as well as key market and investment themes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Articulate and deliver the firm’s perspectives on global markets and investment strategies to both internal advisors and external clients.
- Collaborate in formulating the Private Bank’s views on macro, inflation, FX, and asset classes
- Handle incoming client requests across asset classes, often requiring analysis to address specific client needs on a certain sector or asset class.
- Analysis, charting, and crafting of effective presentations to illustrate and communicate key views.
- Effectively share macroeconomic views, high-conviction investment themes, and portfolio construction insights with clients and prospects through one-on-one meetings and events.
- Produce relevant marketing materials in written, slide, and audio format for internal advisors and clients.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in financial markets as a buy-side or sell-side strategist, economist, fund manager, or research analyst.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to generate insightful and relevant investment ideas.
- A collaborative mindset.
- Exceptional client, written, and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to convey ideas with passion and clarity, simplifying complex concepts through stories, anecdotes, and analogies.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French, Italian, or Spanish would be an asset.
- Willingness to travel for client engagement within the region.
- Proficiency with statistical packages, Bloomberg, FactSet, Haver, Microsoft Office, etc.
