Job Summary
As an Executive Director in the Rates Trading global franchise, you will help cover institutional accounts and make markets in AUD and NZD interest rate derivatives and securities. Your role will involve managing risk, liquidity, and exposure, and contribute to all aspects of the trading desk, including pre-trade analysis, research, trade processing, and strategy design. You will work closely with colleagues locally and offshore to help grow the franchise.
Job Responsibilities
- Make markets in AUD & NZD interest rate derivatives and securities for institutional clients
- Build and develop new customer relationships to expand the franchise
- Manage risk and client flows in a structured manner
- Take initiative to improve business processes and systems
- Understand and follow firm policies for risk management and regulatory compliance
- Play an active role in training, mentoring, and developing junior team members
- Lead and participate in people initiatives, including recruiting and training
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience working within an investment bank
- Minimum 7 years of relevant product experience
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and willingness to invest in others’ growth
- Extensive experience as a price-maker in relevant products
- Strong communication skills for effective client and internal stakeholder interaction
- Detailed understanding of fundamental and technical aspects of traded products and support functions
- Ability to calculate and reconcile P&L and risk
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a global team, managing partnerships with offshore colleagues
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
