As a Director of Security Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls organization, you lead at least one technical area with a security engineering focus, and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and a driver of innovation to deliver security solutions.

You will lead a globally distributed organization of approximately 20 engineers responsible for building and operating security platforms at enterprise scale. This role owns the delivery of an AI-powered security copilot that enables Product Security Leads to scale risk identification and remediation, as well as firm‑wide endpoint and server anti‑virus capabilities. You will partner closely with product, infrastructure, and application teams to embed security by design while delivering resilient, automated security outcomes across the firm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a globally distributed security engineering organization delivering high‑impact platforms and services across the firm
  • Own the strategy, execution, and lifecycle management of an AI‑driven security copilot that enables Product Security Leads to operate at scale
  • Be accountable for the design, deployment, and operation of endpoint and server anti‑virus capabilities across heterogeneous environments
  • Own the design, delivery, and operation of container security products, including image scanning, policy enforcement, and runtime protection across enterprise container platforms
  • Drive security platform adoption by partnering with application, infrastructure, and product teams to embed controls into developer and operational workflows
  • Set technical direction and architectural standards for security engineering solutions, ensuring scalability, resilience, and automation
  • Translate firm‑wide security objectives into measurable engineering roadmaps, milestones, and outcomes
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
  • Be accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience running teams of engineers that deliver security solutions and operations on cloud‑based platforms and applications
  • Experience building security engineering products and platforms used by developers and security practitioners at scale
  • Experience developing and leading globally distributed, cross‑functional engineering teams
  • Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing top engineering and technical leadership talent
  • Experience leading a product as a product owner or product manager, including roadmap ownership and stakeholder alignment
  • Strong expertise in endpoint, server, and workload protection technologies across modern enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver AI‑enabled or automation‑driven platforms that materially improve security outcomes
  • Experience designing and operating container security capabilities across large‑scale Kubernetes or containerized environments

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience building internal developer or security platforms within large, regulated enterprises
  • Familiarity with secure software development lifecycles and product security operating models
  • Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD, cloud, and infrastructure platforms
  • Background in modern detection, prevention, or endpoint protection technologies
  • Strong understanding of risk‑based security decisioning at enterprise scale
