Join us to lead the transformation of our cloud infrastructure provisioning capabilities. You will have the opportunity to influence technical direction, architect next-generation solutions, and empower teams across the organization. Your expertise will help us build reliable, scalable, and innovative platforms that support both self-service and managed provisioning. We value your vision, leadership, and passion for cloud technology. Together, we’ll create a dynamic environment where you can grow and make a lasting impact.

As a Senior Principal Engineer at JPMorganChase in the Cloud Foundational Services (CFS) Cloud Retail Service Enablement (CRSE) team, you will shape, design, and drive the evolution of our provisioning platforms. You will guide current Infrastructure as Code (IaC)-based workflows while architecting a future, tooling-agnostic solution that supports both Application and Managed Platform Teams. Your role will focus on delivering reliable infrastructure, fostering innovation, and ensuring seamless experiences for all users whilst collaborating across engineering, product, and security teams to define standards and influence our technical direction.

The Cloud Foundational Services (CFS) Product Line, a part of Infrastructure Platforms, acts as the focal point across all of JPMC's cloud capabilities. It provides the central suite of tools and APIs that manage access to public cloud capabilities in a secure and compliant manner, defines the developer experience to bind cloud resources into a coherent ecosystem and, in partnership with both Enterprise Technology Product Lines and Lines of Business, drives the adoption and best practices for the implementation of cloud capabilities.

Job responsibilities:

  • Guide Terraform usage, module design, and best practices.
  • Improve module stability and lead lifecycle management.
  • Ensure reliability and governance of current IaC tooling.
  • Explore and evaluate future provisioning engines and orchestration technologies.
  • Prototype new patterns and validate emerging solutions.
  • Design an adaptable provisioning model for evolving needs.
  • Architect a unified provisioning platform for diverse teams.
  • Define API, RBAC, automation, lifecycle operations, and compliance mechanisms.
  • Ensure workflow consistency across provisioning technologies.
  • Lead design and prototyping of platform components.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate across teams.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Experience architecting internal platforms or provisioning systems.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across product, platform, security, and engineering teams.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Familiarity with KRO, ACK, Crossplane, Pulumi, or similar technologies.
  • Experience designing scalable cloud automation and orchestration patterns.
  • Proven ability to influence engineering practices and architectural standards.
  • Demonstrated success as a technical mentor and thought leader.
  • Experience defining policy-as-code and compliance mechanisms.
