Job Description: Product Analyst – Client Information

International Private Bank Digital & Data Transformation

Our Team

As part of the International Private Bank (IPB) Digital & Data Transformation (DDT) organisation, our product team is dedicated to re-designing the end-to-end operating model and tool set for client-facing teams. We focus on creating an omni-channel digital experience for IPB clients, with a particular emphasis on the management, quality, and accessibility of Client Information. Our goal is to design journeys and supporting tools that bring advisors, support teams, and clients closer together by ensuring accurate, timely, and secure client data. This is an exciting time to be transforming our business, and you will play a key role in supporting strategic change, helping to accelerate business growth and achieve efficiency goals globally.

Role Overview

The product team in Edinburgh is seeking a Product Analyst to support strategic programs focused on Client Information within the International Private Bank (IPB). The candidate will collaborate with a global team implementing solutions across all IPB regions: EMEA, Asia, and LATAM. Through partnership with bankers, advisors, senior leaders, designers, and technologists, the Product Analyst will help gather requirements, analyze data, and support the product strategy to ensure we are solving our internal partners’ and clients’ biggest problems related to Client Information.

As a Product Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct analysis of existing operational processes to understand how client information is currently managed and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Translate operational processes and client requests into clear business requirements, focusing on what the client asked for, what needs to change to support these requests in our strategic state, and how to deliver digital-first experiences.

  • Maintain a strong focus on client intent and outcomes, ensuring that all solutions are designed with the client experience at the center.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that process changes and digital solutions align with business goals and regulatory requirements.

You will be expected to quickly learn how our business operates across Servicing, Trading, Finance, Operations, Legal, Risk, and Compliance, with a particular focus on how Client Information is captured, maintained, and leveraged. The successful Product Analyst must develop a strong understanding of our users and the data behind their activity, as well as track industry trends and the competitive landscape to provide product expertise to the business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Operational Process Analysis: Analyze and document existing operational processes related to Client Information. Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for digital transformation.

  • Requirements Translation: Translate client requests and operational findings into clear, actionable business requirements for our strategic state, always with a focus on client intent and desired outcomes.

  • Digital-First Mindset: Ensure all process and product changes are designed to deliver digital-first, client-centric experiences.

  • Data & Analytics: Apply data analysis skills to evaluate data quality, identify trends, and recommend improvements to Client Information processes and tools. Support data mapping, data lineage, and data integrity initiatives.

  • Product Vision Support: Support the product vision for Client Information through analysis and research, informing road map planning and feature prioritization.

  • Product Management Tools: Use product management toolsets such as JIRA and Confluence.

  • Product Development Lifecycle: Support the product lifecycle from proof of concept and prototype testing to release of minimum viable product and subsequent feature enhancements, with a focus on Client Information.

  • Pilot/Rollout Support: Assist in the approach to pilot/rollout of new Client Information capabilities, including objective/scope, communication, training/support, and feedback/metrics.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with delivery partners including Digital, Technology, Design, Operations, Client Service, and control functions across each region.

Credentials

  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication, with a curious mindset and passion for clients’ needs.

  • Demonstrated experience working with data—such as data analysis, data quality, data mapping, or data management—ideally in a financial services or client information context.

  • Experience analyzing and documenting operational processes, and translating findings into business requirements and digital solutions.

  • Previous experience in product analysis, business analysis, or related field preferred; experience in Private Banking or client data management is a plus.

  • Ability to prioritize projects and efforts considering business and client needs, competitive and industry trends, resource and funding availability, and internal trade-offs.

  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams at all levels for effective execution in an agile manner.

  • Ability to manage tight delivery timelines and execute under pressure.

  • Strong commitment to professional responsibilities, self-motivation suitable for a “start-up” team, and superior work ethic with adaptability to push beyond standard hours during busy periods to meet tight deadlines.
