We are looking for a driven individual to join the J.P. Morgan Development Impact Advisory team as an Associate based in London. The team is part of the Development Finance & Advisory team and focuses on sustainable development-oriented financing activities and helps to mobilize capital in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The team provides subject matter expertise to clients globally, including corporates, sovereigns, and state-owned entities, on their development impact strategies in alignment with recognized industry frameworks and standards.

As an Associate within the team, you will play a key role in helping the team in achieving its objectives. The Associate will support the Development Impact Advisory team with its business development and operations, transaction execution, investor engagement strategy, key performance indicators tracking, pipeline management, and strategy. The Development Impact Advisory team sits in the Corporate & Investment Bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with coverage bankers to originate a pipeline of transactions with measurable development impact and participate in client pitches for opportunities aligned to SDGs

  • Work with coverage and product partners to execute transactions end-to-end (from pitch through marketing to close), ensuring impact considerations are embedded throughout

  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients across geographies on sustainable development impact in line with industry standards

  • Develop clear documentation and presentation materials that articulate anticipated development impact for internal and external stakeholders

  • Support investor calls and meetings, including the preparation of pitch materials and compilation of key information

  • Research and monitor investors focused on impact and map out the investor universe including institutional investors, impact investors, and official development finance institutions

  • Support the design and implementation of systems and processes required for achieving the team’s objectives (including consulting with finance & business management, technology, legal, and compliance functions as necessary)

  • Assist with the organization of events, trainings and seminars as needed

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to achieve quality results in a high-pressure, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility / adaptability to changeable directives
  • A team player enthusiastic about impact/sustainability, with an interest in emerging markets
  • Exceptional analytical, research and project management skills
  • Excellent problem solving, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in final outputs
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong presentation abilities and the capacity to effectively summarize key concepts

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Academic credentials in finance, economics, international economic relations and/or any other public policy and sustainability related subject are a plus
  • General understanding of financial markets, as well as knowledge of sustainability and impact trends, frameworks, and terminology
