As a FinOps Analyst within CIB Markets you will work closely with engineering, finance, and business stakeholders to translate cloud consumption data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive measurable outcomes.
CIB Markets is seeking a highly analytical FinOps Analyst to drive insight, optimisation, and financial accountability across our cloud platforms. This role focuses on analysing complex cloud cost and usage data to uncover trends, generate insights, and support data-driven decisions around cloud efficiency and investment.
Job responsibilities
- Analyse cloud spend, usage, and budget data to identify trends, cost drivers, and optimisation opportunities.
- Perform detailed analytical work to support forecasting, efficiency analysis, and financial planning.
- Build and maintain analytical models and metrics to improve visibility into cloud financial performance.
- Partner with engineering and application teams to assess consumption patterns and recommend cost-efficient approaches.
- Track, measure, and report the financial impact of optimisation initiatives.
- Produce clear, insight-driven reporting and presentations for technical and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to the enhancement of FinOps analytics, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve cost visibility, allocation, and financial governance through data and analysis.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong analytical mindset with experience working with complex financial or operational datasets.
- Ability to identify patterns, trends, and insights within large datasets.
- Experience building models to support forecasting, optimisation, or scenario analysis.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, pricing models, and consumption-based costs.
- Familiarity with FinOps principles and cloud financial management practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex insights clearly.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and focused on measurable outcomes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working in a FinOps, cloud cost, or technology finance environment.
- Experience developing analytics or insight solutions related to cloud or infrastructure costs.
- FinOps or cloud certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS, Azure).
