Vice President - AML Project Management & Business Process Lead, Asset Management

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President to join our Asset Management Financial Crimes Business Executive (“FCBE”) team. FCBE is responsible for leading and driving the AML strategy across the Asset Management business globally. FCBE works closely with operational AML leads in each region to ensure consistent application of firmwide policies, effective risk management, and alignment with regulatory expectations. The team acts as a central point for strategic AML initiatives, providing guidance, oversight, and partnership to regional and functional stakeholders. This role will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and enhancement of AML transformation initiatives, as well as overseeing the assessment and application of firmwide AML policies to the Asset Management business globally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AML project management, deep understanding of AML business processes, and familiarity with global AML regulations (including Europe, North America, and Asia).
Job Responsibilities
- AML Transformation Leadership:
- Be a self-starter and part of a team that leads the development, implementation, and enhancement of AML transformation initiatives.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of transformational change programs within the AML regulatory business, from strategy development through to execution.
- Partner with senior leadership to define the vision, objectives, and roadmap for AML transformation initiatives.
- Project & Program Management:
- Manage and deliver complex AML-related projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards.
- Monitor progress, track key performance indicators, and report on program status, risks, and outcomes to senior management.
- Business Process Assessment & Enhancement:
- Assess current-state processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and design future-state operating models that align with regulatory requirements and business goals.
- Oversee the implementation of new policies, procedures, and technologies to strengthen AML compliance and operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Collaborate and partner with all AML regional leads and other stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and buy-in across all levels of client service.
- Liaise with internal auditors, testing teams, and internal partners to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of AML issues.
- Regulatory & Risk Management:
- Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risks, proactively advising on potential impacts and recommending necessary changes.
- Maintain a good understanding of the AML programme, sanctions, and financial crime regulations to support decision-making.
- Reporting & Metrics:
- Prepare and present reports, metrics, and executive summaries for the Head of AML and senior leadership.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (GFCC, Technology, Business) to integrate AML requirements into client service processes and strategic initiatives.
- Change Management:
- Develop and execute change management strategies, including training, communications, and support plans to ensure successful adoption of new ways of working.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance within the AML BAU teams.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in AML, financial crime compliance, or related fields within financial services, with significant exposure to Asset Management/Transfer Agency.
- Proven track record in AML project management and business process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of global AML regulations and standards (e.g., Europe, North America, Asia).
- Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive transformational change.
