Job Summary:
As a Senior Principal Architect in Enterprise Architecture, you will lead the Technology Preferences program, defining and governing guidance that supports architects and engineers across the firm. You will partner with IT Asset Management to align standards with asset lifecycle and cost insights, ensuring guidance is actionable and integrated into processes. Your role will influence target-state architecture, drive adoption of cohesive solutions, and connect architecture decisions with the firm’s information graph. You will help create a culture of innovation and collaboration, making a lasting impact on our technology landscape.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive the Technology Preferences taxonomy and statuses across technology domains
- Design and implement a Business Domain Model to structure business capabilities
- Translate market and internal trends into actionable guidance and decision records
- Partner with Chief Architects and governance bodies to ensure measurable and auditable preferences
- Align preferences with asset inventory, entitlements, usage telemetry, and cost data
- Use ITAM insights to drive rationalization, consolidation, modernization, and cost optimization
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track technology sprawl, policy coverage, and savings
- Define and steward ontology, metadata, and relationships within the architecture information graph
- Ensure standards are machine-actionable and integrated into workflows and APIs
- Lead cross-functional working groups to embed preferences in roadmaps and delivery backlogs
- Communicate technical trade-offs to diverse audiences and create reusable frameworks
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Applied experience as an Enterprise Architect or Senior Solutions Architect
- Experience creating and governing technology standards and embedding them into delivery processes
- Practical experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expertise in architecture disciplines and cloud-native or hybrid/multi-cloud environments
- Ability to evaluate and compare technologies using objective criteria
- Success partnering with IT Asset Management to connect standards with asset and usage data
- Strong data and knowledge modeling skills, including defining ontologies and managing metadata
- Familiarity with APIs and integration patterns
- Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams and drive enterprise-scale change
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Applied experience in software engineering or software-defined infrastructure
- Experience with knowledge graph and catalog capabilities, including graph data modeling and integration
- Relevant architecture and technology certifications (e.g., TOGAF, cloud provider architect), ITIL, or asset management credentials
- Experience embedding regulatory, risk, and control requirements into architecture standards
- Background leading vendor evaluations and proofs-of-concept with objective scoring
