As a Principal Architect at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms - within IP International Services, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.
Job responsibilities
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of infrastructure products, Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, networks, firewalls, storage, and data center management
- Influence and foster a culture of change, excellence, and innovation, constructively challenging the status quo
- Create effective partnerships with clients, business leaders, and application architects to define technology and architecture roadmaps
- Provide strategic and tactical direction to product teams, communicating technical direction to the wider technology community
- Establish, maintain, and communicate a technology vision, building support across departments through talks, papers, workshops, and interpersonal communication
- Participate in major technical decisions, develop technical proposals, and gain consensus among stakeholders
- Serve as a leader, consultant, mentor, and tutor in technical architecture areas of expertise
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, negotiating compromise and demonstrating diplomacy
- Apply strategic thinking and passion for business strategy and processes
- Rapidly understand and communicate the impact of solutions and technology
- Lead a small team of Solutions Architects to deliver high-quality architecture solutions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure architecture principles
- Proven system design experience
- Experience in risk and risk control compliance
- Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Experience collaborating with business representatives and system architects to ensure successful design
- Experience in cloud-native systems architecture or engineering, including system design reviews
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, applications, and architecture
- In-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently
- Ability to understand technology in the context of business strategy and evaluate current and emerging technologies
