Join the regional High-Risk Can-I-Pay (CIP) team as a Vice President and take a leading role in safeguarding high-risk, high-value payments and funding activity across Equities. You’ll combine deep product expertise with a control-first mindset to make real-time decisions, reduce operational risk, and help drive global automation and Straight-Through Processing (STP) outcomes.

As a Equity Operations Payment Specialist - Vice President within the regional High-Risk Can-I-Pay (CIP) Team, you will independently validate and approve complex client and firm payments, journals, and account adjustments across Equities products, while strengthening the control framework that protects the firm from operational, financial, and reputational risk. You will partner closely with Front Office, Treasury, Operations, and Technology to resolve exceptions and escalations in real time, and you will contribute to the global Can-I-Pay automation/STP initiative by simplifying workflows, standardizing controls across regions, and representing the function in key risk and change management forums.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform independent validation and approval of complex, high-risk, and high-value client and firm payments (incoming and outgoing), journals, and funding adjustments across Equities products.
  • Establish and maintain a robust control framework to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risk.
  • Partner with Front Office, Treasury, Operations, and Technology teams to assess and resolve payment exceptions and escalations in real time.
  • Contribute to the design, requirements, and delivery of the global “Can-I-Pay” automation and STP (Straight-Through Processing) initiative.
  • Drive process simplification, eliminating manual steps and implementing standardized controls across regions.
  • Represent the team in regional risk and change management forums.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Payments, Operations, Product Control, or Treasury roles within Equities or related asset classes.
  • Strong Equities product knowledge (Prime Brokerage, Cleared Derivatives, FXPB, EDG, Cash Equities).
  • Deep understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle, settlement mechanics, and client funding processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex risk scenarios and provide rapid, well-reasoned decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with a control-first mindset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience driving automation or control improvements.
