Global Investment Banking - EMEA A&A Lead - Executive Director

You will help shape and deliver the global A&A strategy across EMEA, partnering with the GIB A&A Leader, regional GIB Heads, and senior leadership to implement firmwide priorities while advancing initiatives that support the needs of the EMEA business. The role will help optimize the operating model, strengthen workflow management, and advance key junior talent priorities, while ensuring global A&A programs and processes are executed consistently across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of regional and global A&A priorities across EMEA, partnering with regional GIB Heads, HR, and senior business leaders to advance key initiatives related to A&A wellbeing, workforce planning, and the development and retention of junior talent.
- Monitor A&A capacity and workload trends across EMEA, analyzing data, staffing demand, and business activity to identify emerging capacity risks, recommend targeted interventions, and inform workforce planning and hiring priorities.
- Maintain a regional view of performance, promotion, and compensation outcomes, partnering with ECMs, HR, and business leadership to promote consistency, identify trends and areas for focus, and provide perspective when outcomes appear misaligned with broader business priorities.
- Monitor and improve key talent outcomes by analyzing trends in employee sentiment, retention, productivity, and mobility, and developing targeted action plans with business leaders and ECMs.
- Lead business-sponsored A&A initiatives across EMEA, partnering with HR, ECMs, and senior leaders to strengthen the A&A experience and business outcomes.
- Provide management reporting and workforce insights on headcount, hiring demand, attrition, staffing capacity, and trends to support leadership decision-making and long-term workforce planning.
- Drive process optimization and AI utilization across EMEA A&A program, identifying opportunities to improve staffing, performance management, onboarding, engagement, and other operational processes through technology-enabled solutions while ensuring appropriate governance and change management.
- Guide and support the regional Early Career Managers, establishing consistent execution standards, sharing best practices, and ensuring alignment to global A&A processes and priorities.
Qualifications:
- Extensive investment banking experience (or closely related financial services experience), with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders (including Group and Product Heads), drive alignment, and deliver outcomes on workforce, talent, and business priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives at regional scale, including workforce planning and talent initiatives.
- Strong commercial and operating judgment, with the ability to make timely decisions, manage risk, and escalate appropriately on capacity, staffing, performance, and talent-related matters.
- Deep understanding of investment banking operating models, including deal staffing dynamics, project management, performance management, and junior talent development.
- Highly analytical and data-driven communicator, able to translate workforce, capacity, and talent insights into clear recommendations and actions for senior leadership in a matrixed, EMEA environment.
