We are seeking a brilliant digital executive to support the delivery of a 5-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for Marcomms across the Dahl business. This role will take the lead defining the digital and social strategy for the Dahl business for the next 5+ years. The successful candidate will be familiar with the entertainment space, with a proven track record of building brands through inventive and impactful digital strategy and content.

The Role

This role will be responsible for a total reinvention of Dahl on digital. We are looking for a brilliant executive who has experience of taking entertainment brands into the digital space and who has strength as a digital strategist and an ability to identify and create content which cuts through. Supported by the Director of Marcomms, this role will take the lead on defining the business approach to the digital space, and design the approach from start to finish ensuring it ladders up to the business’ aims and both the Franchise and Marcomms strategies. This is a fast moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, an excellent communicator, and able to exercise good judgment.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Take a leadership role within Dahl digital as a whole, setting strategy, approach and roadmap for the business and defining the digital approach from start to finish.

  • Be at the cutting edge of digital content, and create digital strategies for the Dahl brand that put us ahead of the competition.

  • Taking the strategic objectives set in the marcomms and franchise strategies and designing a digital strategy which meet the business’ goals of building awareness and affinity of our titles.

  • Define the blueprint for digital for the Dahl brand, identifying where Dahl should play in the digital and social ecosystem to deliver against its strategic aims.

  • Build brilliant digital content strategies for our major franchises and partner with the Franchise team on incubator brands with fleet-of-foot experimental digital plans.

  • Develop brilliant content (or identify the best partners to develop content with), combine your key sense of strategy with brilliant creative instincts to develop a content strategy which cuts through for audiences.

  • Be an expert on audience building in the digital space, with deep knowledge of how to identify, reach and build love with core target audiences.

  • Build excellent relationships with the social teams at Netflix, embedding within their teams and leveraging their capabilities and best practice.

  • Be continually up to speed with the best innovation and best content practices in the market, and be an internal advocate champion to build the digital fluency of the business as a whole

  • Build digital tool kits for the business verticals to support them and their network of partners.

  • Lead on the digital strategies for individual titles with a specific emphasis on our incubator titles.

  • Partner with the Head of Marcomms and wider team and business to ensure plans are connected.

Profile/Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years + in digital working within a studio or other equivalent environment.

  • A proven track record in creating digital content that cuts through.

  • A proven strategic track record, experience of building digital strategies from scratch for equivalent brands and evidence of seismic impact.

  • Great creative instincts and/or skills.

  • Ability to lead individual projects with autonomy, curiosity and professionalism.

  • Good commercial acumen.

  • A self-starter, with entrepreneurial nous, used to having high impact in complex and shifting environments.

  • A passionate Roald Dahl fan!
